Our Employer partners.

Getting the right careers education, information, advice and guidance can inspire young people to achieve more than they ever thought possible.  We work with the several external businesses to deliver a careers education experience that links students to the world of work and supports them as they begin their career journey.

Research from the Education and Employers Taskforce shows that a person who has four or more meaningful encounters with an employer is 86% less likely to be unemployed or not in education or training and can earn up to 22% more during their career. At the UTC we ensure this target is not only met but surpassed. All our students will gain at least 10 meaningful encounters every year they are with us.

The 2016 Education & Skills Survey reported:
“a gap between education and the preparation people need for their future, as well as “a gap between the skills needed and those people have.”

Employer encounters help address these gaps in skills and knowledge, we are passionate about bringing the word of employment to our doors and want to work to meet the skills gap of tomorrow.

Structuring employer encounters within and beyond the school curriculum, strengthens aspiration and attainment. It supports students to take action to achieve their full potential.
