Criminal self-disclosure
All shortlisted candidates will be provided with a criminal history self-disclosure form to complete and return no later than one day prior to interview. Failure to return the self-disclosure will result in the interview being withdrawn.
Once the self-disclosure form is received in school, any disclosed information will be checked to ensure it is relevant. Relevant criminal history will be shared with the chair of the recruitment panel prior to interview to allow time to assess relevance and agree what questions should be asked during the interview process. Any shortlisted candidate who discloses criminal or other suitability information will be given an opportunity to discuss the context and relevance with the recruiting panel.
Governor Vacancies
We are looking to recruit new governors to the Full Governing Body. Governors offer strategic guidance, oversight and accountability rather than getting involved in the day-to-day operations of the school. Governors usually attend around 6 meetings a year, with the role providing the opportunity for career development and the chance to support young people’s futures. In particular we are looking for governors with a financial background, but people from a broad range of backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
The Governing Body consists of three committees: Curriculum and Standards, Employer Engagement and Finance and Audit. These committees meet once per term followed by a meeting of the full board.
We are also recruiting for a new Chair of the Governing Body in the next 12 months.
The current Chair, Barbara Stephens, would be delighted to meet interested people, and to discuss the role in more detail. Please contact her on utc@crook-hall.com.
