Energy Coast UTC students celebrate fantastic A Level and BTEC results

Energy Coast UTC are delighted with the superb A Level and BTEC results students have achieved. These results will support students to transition into excellent destinations rooted in STEM with many progressing on to degree level apprenticeships and university pathways.

Head of School, Kerryann Wilson said:

“The excellent results achieved by our students are a real testament to the dedication of our students and the inspirational teaching of our staff which combines academic and technical excellence. Our unique approach to the curriculum, working alongside local and national employer partners, empowers students with the skills they need to move onto excellent destinations. We are immensely proud of their achievements today and wish all of our students the very best for their future.”

Head of Sixth Form, Andrew Davidson added:

“Congratulations to all of our students who have taken every opportunity throughout their sixth form studies to work alongside industry experts within their ‘Employer Projects’ and gain the crucial knowledge, skills and experience of their desired destinations. This, combined with excellent academic and technical grades, means that many of our students and progressing onto their dream destination. We are very proud of them all and wish them well as they embark upon their chosen career pathway.”

Excellent results were achieved by many, including:

  • Blain Ewing achieved a Grade A in DEC! and a Distinction* in both Sport and Construction. Blain has successfully secured a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship with Balfour Beatty specialising in Civil Engineering.
  • Kieren Lofthouse achieved a Distinction in Cyber Security, a Grade B in DEC!, a B in EPQ and a Merit in Engineering. Next year Kieren will be moving on to a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship with Sellafield in Control Systems.
  • Luke Watson achieved a Distinction* in Business Studies, a Merit in Engineering and Distinction in Construction. Luke will be moving on to a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship with Cumberland Council specialising in Civil Engineering.
  • Aleah Donnan achieved Merits in Construction, Engineering and Applied Science; she will be moving on to study at Nottingham University.
  • Callum Wilson achieved Distinctions in Business Studies, Engineering and Cyber Security. Next year he be moving on to study an Apprenticeship in Cyber Security.
  • Demileigh Nichol achieved a Distinction in Engineering, a Grade C in DEC! and a Grade D in Product Design. Next year she will be progressing on to a Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship with Jacobs studying Mechanical Engineering.
  • Georgia Gilmore achieved a Distinction in Business Studies and Merits in Engineering and Applied Science. Next year she will be moving on to a Level 4 Project Management Apprenticeship with United Utilities.
