Entry Routes
Join in Year 9
Energy Coast UTC offers a small Gifted & Talented Year 9 cohort, designed for students who are ready to begin their specialist journey earlier. Places are limited to 20 students each year and entry is subject to an interview process. This unique opportunity allows students to access specialist facilities, employer engagement opportunities and technical learning from an earlier age.
Join in Year 10
Our main entry point is Year 10 (age 14). Students join us from schools across West Cumbria to benefit from a curriculum that combines academic learning with technical education, industry engagement and real-world experiences. This is the ideal stage to begin preparing for future careers, apprenticeships and further study.
Join Our Sixth Form
Our Sixth Form offers a range of industry-focused qualifications including T Levels and other Level 3 pathways designed to support progression to university, apprenticeships and employment. Students benefit from employer-led projects, workplace experiences, professional development and tailored careers support throughout their studies.
